Shure SM7B

The Shure SM7B is the broadcast and podcast standard, and one of the great rock vocal microphones besides. Its tight cardioid pattern and internal air-suspension shock isolation reject the room and the desk, which is exactly why it works where a condenser would not.

A built-in pop filter and switchable bass rolloff and presence boost let you shape the voice at the source. Frequency response runs 50 Hz to 20 kHz with the smooth, forgiving top end the microphone is known for.

The SM7B needs 60 dB or more of clean gain. Pair it with our Neve 1073SPX, the Soyuz Lakeside or an inline booster.
